We're beginning to think about artists for 2010, and are putting our long list together of artists to be considered.
Who would you like to see at the festival 2010?
We'll read all the answers we receive, so this is a chance to help shape next years' festival!

a more international flavour to the dance groups. Calan, Ember. What about Martin Simpson doing his americana music with a backing band (not that he need's one) SPIRO, Cara Luft (an original Wailin Jenny) or the Wailin Jennies themselves. Finally what about Seasick Steve for last on Saturday night. I gather Horslips have been playing or are about to start again (now that's showing my age)

Three Daft Monkeys
Martin Stephenson,
Jackie Leven,

and for the "Chris Smither" moment, Chuck Prophet would be perfect - currently playing Academy's - should be playing Arena's.

Blue Horses are no more - shame, they would have rocked the place. I`d rather the festival didn`t go the Cambridge way with too much Americana.
Phil B.
Thanks for all those suggestions - please feel free to keep them coming!
There are some really interesting names on that list - and for those reading down this far we HAVE booked some of them already.
In particular one of the anonymous posters mentioned an artist that we've already booked who has never played an English festival, but is coming to Shrewsbury in 2010! (excited, me?!)
The blog is the place to find out things first, and we'll announce a few names a little early...perhaps in mid December.

The Saw Doctors...definitely!!
Billy Bragg
The New Rope String Band
Lunasa
Blackfingers Duo mixes traditional music with there own music and features young Robbie on fiddle (only 13years) and Dave Dove on 12 string guitar. He's supported artists such as Seth Lakeman on the mainstage in Middlewich, John Tams and Queensberry Rules. Check out www.youtube.com/user/RockinRobbie53 and www.myspace.com/davedove. An old favourite who never fails to entertain may be for 2011 - what about Jon Otway
Dear Organisers,
please could you try and get the following, all very traditional and amazing musicians and maybe slightly different from what has been suggested already:

Sam Proctor (for the ultimate fiddle experience)
Siansa for a great traditional band
Lunasa (always good!)
